WHat a Success!

Thank you for showing up for the birds!

Through our Birdathon, we did something quite amazing. We counted birds, we donated funds, and we provided the reason—through our enthusiasm and dedication to our programs and projects—for the Birdathon teams to go out (sometimes on a limb) and raise funds from our friends, family, and community.

We did this last year, and we did it again in 2026!

In doing so, we have developed for SEVAS a self-sufficient approach to fundraising, an additional and successful way to generate resources we need for endeavors we choose. No application process. No evaluation criteria. No waiting period. Certainly, we’ll continue to seek and receive funding in other ways (grants, dues, fees, & other donations). But knowing how much we can achieve by doing fundraising "in house" for ourselves conveys invaluable confidence.

In addition, through the generosity and sponsorships we invited from others, we’ve affirmed our connections with them and received their tangible, “we’re-with-you,” recognition.

This is an impressive collective action that we, and all those who participated with us, have achieved. Well done, everyone!
